The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced, capable Finance Manager to take ownership of our financial operations. Starting at a minimum of 25 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow to 30 hours, this is a varied role that blends hands-on accounting with systems thinking, data analysis, and close collaboration with our CEO. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Monthly financial statements

Journals, balance sheet, P&L, GST returns, and tax accruals — end to end.

  • Banking & reconciliations

Daily banking reconciliations with prompt reporting of any discrepancies.

  • Technology & systems

Review, evaluate, and implement software and process improvements across the business.

  • Creditors & debtors

Manage creditors in Xero and help design and maintain an effective debtor’s system.

  • Funding & reporting

Understand funding streams, process remittances, and produce regular management reports.

  • Data analytics & projects

Analyse financial data and work directly with the CEO on key projects and initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • Formal accounting qualifications — intermediate level minimum (e.g. NZICA, Xero-certified, or equivalent)
  • Sound knowledge of NZ income tax legislation and GST
  • Demonstrated experience producing month-end financial statements
  • Proficiency in Xero, with confidence across Excel and practice management systems
  • Experience managing creditors, and the initiative to help build and maintain an effective debtor’s framework
  • Comfortable reviewing technology and implementing new systems and workflows
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage and deliver projects independently
  • A collaborative, positive approach — you’ll work across all teams and directly with our CEO
