Preventative Health Care

Preventative Health Care

Our specially trained nurses offer a range of services, and run several preventative health care clinics:

  • Smear clinics (for your cervical screening)
  • Smoking cessation advice and support
  • Cholesterol checks
  • Diabetes checks
  • Cardiovascular risk assessments
  • Ear health
  • Travel advice and vaccinations (see our travel clinic)

Immunisations

All Childhood immunisations are done by the nurses and are FREE. If this is your child’s first lot of immunisations at 6 weeks of age, you will need to make an appointment with the Doctor first for your baby’s thorough check up. If you choose to make other plans for your child, this check-up is still very important, very worthwhile and is FREE.

‘Catch-up’ vaccinations are available for any children and young persons (up to the age of 18) who haven’t yet had their full childhood schedule. Check in with the nurses is you are unsure if you are up-to-date.

Adults need vaccines too! Make sure to ask your GP to check if there are any you might benefit from.
